Press Release Regarding the Terrorist Attacks Perpetrated in Iraq

We strongly condemn the bomb attacks perpetrated yesterday (20 October), in Karbala, one of the significant centers for the Shia, resulting in the death of twenty six people and injury of fifty five people, and in the capital city Baghdad leading to the death of seventeen people and injury of twenty eight people according to the initial reports. We wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives in these attacks, convey our condolences to their families and hope for a speedy recovery of the wounded.
We reiterate that Turkey will be in solidarity with friendly and brotherly people of Iraq in their fight against terrorism, especially against ISIS, as it has always been the case, and hope that these acts of violence targeting the peace and stability of our neighbor will come to an end as soon as possible. Further, we state once more that we will maintain our support to the Iraqi Government in this struggle.
