Press Release Regarding the NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting in Spring 2015

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 15.01.2015

No: 18, 15 January 2015

The next NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting will be hosted by Turkey on 13-14 May 2015 in Antalya.

Turkey previously hosted meetings of NATO Foreign and Defence Ministers in 1994 and 2010, respectively, and the NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government in 2004.

Within the margins of the Meeting in Antalya, in addition to a North Atlantic Council session where the Foreign Ministers of 28 Allies will engage in comprehensive consultations on major issues on NATO’s agenda, a series of other sessions will take place with the participation of Partner Nations’ Foreign Ministers. The decision on these additional sessions shall be taken in the forthcoming months in light of developments in international security.

The fact that this Meeting will be held in Antalya demonstrates the importance that Turkey, as an Ally for 63 years, attaches to NATO’s undertakings. Taking place at a time of high risks and threats at NATO’s southern border, the Meeting will also highlight Alliance solidarity.
